A couple was charged with drunken driving over the weekend after GPS directed them straight to a police station in Montgomery County, Pa. over the weekend.

Officials say Richard Schnee was following and Ardean Marie Smith to the Hilton Garden Inn in Fort Washington Sunday night, but instead Smith's GPS led both of their vehicles to the Upper Dublin Police station, according WPVI-TV.

"They pulled up to the area. Officers walked up to them and asked, 'Why are you here? This is a restricted area,'" Upper Dublin Deputy Police Chief Lee Benson told the news station.

The officers smelled alcohol and after a field sobriety test, they booked both Schnee and Smith for DUI.

How Smith managed to follow her GPS to the station remains a mystery to police.

,p> "Operator error, I'm not sure, but in the end, it worked out," Benson said. "Got two drunk people off the street. Kept our streets a little bit safer and was an easy arrest for our officers."
