It can be hard to keep up with all of the news that occurs on daily basis.

Because of this, the Officer.com staff presents the "Quickfire Weekly Recap."

Here are some of the stories you may have missed that ran on our site this week:

Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 2)

It was a deadly weekend for law enforcement officers with three line of duty deaths occurring in the span of just a few days.

On Friday, a Chandler, Ariz. motorcycle officer was killed in a crash involving a man driving on a suspended license.

Officer David Payne was stopped at a red light when he was rear-ended by the vehicle.

On Saturday, an El Paso County Sheriff's constable died in a fight while working a security detail in during a Halloween event.

Constable Robert White was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead after being punched in the face.

On Sunday, a Cedar County, Mo. Sheriff's deputy and a suspect were killed during a shootout.

Deputy Matthew Chism attempted to stop a vehicle for driving with no headlights when a passenger exited the fleeing vehicle and fled on before opening fire on the deputy.

The U.S. Justice Department and New Mexico's largest city reached an agreement to overhaul the Albuquerque Police Department.

Reforms will include new training and protocols for investigating officer shootings along with an independent monitor who will oversee the changes.

Efforts are still underway to prepare for potential attacks at airports one year after a man walked into LAX with an assault rifle and opened fire.

A report into the Nov. 1, 2013 shooting that left a TSA officer dead and injured three other people found that the nation's third-busiest airport found it was ill-prepared to communicate with passengers and the public.

Monday (Nov. 3)

Police in Mesquite, Texas arrested a homeless man accused of stabbing two Eastfield College officers.

Officer Elias Reymundo and Sgt. Melissa Jacobs were attacked and repeatedly stabbed by Miguel Sarinana in an unused classroom on campus around 9:45 a.m.

A man was arrested in the hit-and-run deaths of three teenage girls who had gone trick-or-treating on Halloween in Santa Ana, Calif.

Jaquinn Bell was booked for investigation of felony hit-and-run causing death in the collision that claimed the lives of 13-year-old twins and their 13-year-old friend at a crosswalk.

Members of a U.S. Marshals task force talked about hunting down the suspect in a deadly ambush at a Pennsylvania State Police barracks.

Marshals Scott Malkowski and Scott Kimball tracked down Eric Frein and found him hiding in an abandoned airplane hangar in the Pocono Mountains.

A St. Paul, Minn. police cruiser and Green Line light-rail train collided, injuring an officer.

Officials said that the officer was knocked unconscious but was awake at the scene and taken to Regions Hospital.

Tuesday (Nov. 4)

A Maury County, Tenn. Sheriff's Deputy died in a single-vehicle crash while responding to ssist another deputy involved in a pursuit.

Deputy Darrell Perritt, who works the night patrol shift, was en route to assist around 3 a.m. when he lost control of his patrol car and struck a tree.

Utah prosecutors announced that officers were justified in fatally shooting a man who was wielding a sword as part of a Japanese anime costume.

Utah County Attorney Jeff Buhman ruled that the two Saratoga Springs officers feared for their lives and the safety of others when they fired seven shots at Darrien Hunt on Sept. 10.

The police chief of St. Louis County, Mo. defended his department's involvement in requesting a no-fly zone over Ferguson.

Police Chief Jon Belmar told reporters that "at no time did we request that only media be kept out of the airspace" during the two weeks in August during the protests.

The New York City fire department said its computer-aided 911 emergency dispatch system was down for nearly two hours.

FDNY says it was down from about 2:15 p.m. to 4:05 p.m. and that dispatchers worked manually to handle nearly 600 calls during the outage and sent out emergency crews by radio.

Wednesday (Nov. 5)

A Clarendon County, S.C. Sheriff's investigator died following a crash.

Investigator Holmes Smith was returning from a meeting with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division regarding an auto theft case when the wreck occurred.

A woman was found safe in Maryland after being abducted off the streets of Philadelphia.

Carlesha Freeland-Gaither was injured but safe after ATF agents closed in on a sedan with broken windows in a parking lot in Jessup.

An East Orange, N.J. police officer was saved by his bulletproof vest after he was shot.

Sgt. Mike Williams stopped a man riding a bicycle who suddenly pulled out a gun and shot the 12-year veteran once in the abdomen.

After months of testing, the LAPD picked TASER as the company it would like to use to outfit hundreds of officers with on-body cameras.

It remains unclear when officers will start to use the cameras as no contract has been signed and the department has yet to draft a policy on the use of the equipment.

Thursday (Nov. 6)

A Canadian corrections officer was killed and six inmates and a colleague were injured following a crash.

Officer Rhonda Commodore was thrown from the Manitoba Corrections van she was a passenger in when it left Highway 10 and crashed into a ditch and rolled.

Authorities said a woman snatched off the streets of Philadelphia was rescued with the help of a GPS tracking device.

Law enforcement officials found 22-year-old Carlesha Freeland-Gaither and her alleged abductor in Jessup, Md. thanks to the device installed on the suspect's vehicle by the used-car dealership that sold it to him.

The choice for second-in-command of the NYPD was announced, a week after the previous candidate abruptly turned it down and retired.

Commissioner William Bratton tapped Benjamin B. Tucker to fill the job of first deputy commissioner.

A U.S. attorney in Brooklyn is being eyed to by the White House to replace the outgoing Eric Holder as attorney general.

Loretta Lynch would become the first black woman to head the Justice Department.

Friday (Nov. 7)

As the hundreds of Pennsylvania State Police troopers and federal agents who joined the massive manhunt for Eric Frein return to their base stations, troopers at the Blooming Grove barracks face the reality of moving forward without their fallen comrade.

Amid the rows of white wood lockers a plaque on locker No. 7 reads: "Cpl. Bryon Dickson, You will always be our brother. EOW: 9/12/2014."

The National Transportation Safety Board concluded a fatal Alaska State Troopers helicopter crash was caused by the pilot's decision to fly into bad weather and the agency's inadequate safety management.

Pilot Mel Nading, Trooper Tage Toll and an injured snowmobiler they had picked up all died in last year's crash.
