RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — A Richland County Sheriff’s deputy disregarded a red light on Two Notch Road Friday night, resulting in a collision with another vehicle.

Senior Trooper Hannah Wimberly, of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said the deputy drove through a red light while an oncoming vehicle was making a left turn on to Trenholm Road. The accident caused the deputy’s vehicle to flip over. It is unknown at this point whether or not the deputy drove through the red light to respond to a call.

Wimberly said the deputy was transported to a local hospital and the driver of the other vehicle did not report any injuries.
