Mississippi Sheriff's Deputy Killed in Crash

Union County Deputy Clinton H. Frazier's cruiser left the roadway, hit an embankment and flipped.

MYRTLE -- A Union County Sheriff's Deputy was killed in a single car crash Wednesday night.

Deputy Clinton H. Frazier, 36, of Myrtle, was on duty Wednesday night on Highway 178 when his car left the roadway, hit an embankment and flipped around 9 p.m., according to Cpl. Joe Miller of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Frazier was just inside the Myrtle city limits when his vehicle left the roadway.

Miller said Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident and doesn't yet know what caused Frazier to leave the road.
