A man arrested on a warrant in Freemansburg Monday night faces even more charges after a strip search at the county prison revealed he had tied 18 packets of heroin to his penis, according to court records.

John Vincent, 25, of Bethlehem, is charged with possession of heroin by an inmate, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and false identification to a law enforcement officer. He was arraigned by District Judge Diane Marakovits and sent to Northampton County Prison under $50,000 bail.

According to a criminal complaint:

Freemansburg police stopped a sport-utility-vehicle at 8:09 p.m. Monday in the area of Pembroke Road and Garfield Street because the vehicle had a side mirror that was broken and dangling.

Police said the driver and passenger both appeared nervous. The passenger was moving around erratically in his seat and police questioned him.

The passenger gave police a fake name and he was later identified as Vincent. Police discovered he had an arrest warrant from the Northampton County Sheriff's Department.

Police questioned Vincent and he admitted to having a hypodermic needle and spoon that he used to inject heroin earlier in the day stashed in the vehicle. Police asked Vincent if he had any drugs on him and he said he didn't. Police warned him that it if he had drugs on him while in prison, it would be a felony. He repeated, "that was it, that's all I got."

The driver was released from the scene and Vincent was taken to the county prison. Police were informed that during a strip search at the prison, corrections officers found 18 wax bags containing heroin rubber banded to his penis.
