Feb. 25--A Harrisburg man was arrested for firing a gun early Monday in Allentown, according to court records.

Nafee A. Davis, 19, fled from two Allentown police officers who heard the gunshot near Fountain and Gordon streets, court records state. The officers tracked down Davis and the gun and charged him Tuesday with disorderly conduct and four weapons violations.

According to a criminal complaint:

Two officers were patrolling near Fountain and Gordon streets at 12:39 a.m. Monday when they heard a gunshot, followed by laughter. Police saw three men walking in the 400 block of North Fountain Street and pulled over next to them.

One of the men, wearing a black coat over a red hooded sweatshirt, ran away and officers went after him. As police looked for the man, a motion light came on in the 400 block of Hazel Street. Police found the man who had fled from them, but he was not wearing the coat or sweatshirt.

The man was identified as Davis. Police learned there was a warrant for his arrest in Dauphin County for failing to appear at a court hearing on a possession of marijuana charge.

Police later found a .25-caliber shell casing, the discarded red sweatshirt and the black coat. Police found the gun in a rear yard in the 400 block of North 10th Street.

The gun had its serial number filed off, police said.

Davis was sent to Lehigh County Prison by District Judge Patricia Engler on $25,000 bail.
