Montgomery police have arrested two teenagers in connection with the Jan. 13 shooting death of their alleged accomplice in a home invasion robbery.

Keyon Butler, 19, and Orlando Bowen, 17, both are charged with robbery first-degree and felony murder in the death of 20-year-old Deandre Robertson, court records state.

The three are accused of carrying out a home invasion robbery at a residence in the 600 block of Glade Park Drive, according to court records.

The homeowner shot Robertson in self-defense during the robbery, police said.

Police and fire medics responded to the residence about 5:38 p.m. and found Robertson with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not known at first, but the investigation led police to the information that Robertson had entered the residence along with two other males to commit a robbery, said Lt. Regina Duckett, a police spokeswoman.

Police then developed information that Bowen and Butler took part in the robbery, Duckett said.

Robertson was killed during the commission of a robbery the two allegedly participated in, so police charged them with felony murder along with robbery. They were arrested Wednesday.

The two are being held on bonds totaling $135,000 each.

Mugshots are not available for Bowen and Butler, and the investigation is ongoing, Duckett said.

The case is still a death investigation since the shooting was self-defense, and the number of homicides in Montgomery for the year remains at seven.
