Texas Border Patrol Agent Dies While on Duty

A Texas Border Patrol agent died Friday (Nov. 2) while on duty near Big Bend National Park.

According to public radio station KRTS News, U.S. Border Patrol Agent David R. Delaney, 44, died while performing his duties. The radio station was quoting from a news release from the U.S. Border Patrol.

The patrol’s release says the cause of Delaney’s death is under investigation. KRTS contacted a patrol spokesperson who said there was no indication his death was a result of foul play.

According to Officer Down Memorial Page, Delaney suffered “a medical emergency” while hiking to a location to set up a camera.
