NATIONAL CITY
Four people have been taken to the hospital after three cars collided in a high-speed rollover crash in National City on Wednesday.
Authorities said the crash occurred near the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Second Street at about 5 p.m. after the cars came off Interstate 5. Two of the cars involved landed on their sides.
It took firefighters about an hour to free the crash victims, including one who was trapped underneath a car.
Two were transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital and two were taken to UCSD Medical Center. Their conditions were unknown. They are expected to survive
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
