Charlotte Police Cruiser Involved in Collision

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --

A Charlotte Mecklenburg police officer was involved in an accident on Wednesday morning in southwest Charlotte.

The accident occurred on South Tryon between Sandy Porter Road and Interstate 485.

The police cruiser and a small SUV were towed away from the scene around 7:30 a.m.

Channel 9 is working to find out what caused the crash and how many other vehicles were involved.

There are no reports of injuries.
