A police car crashed into a city paramedic vehicle in the Strip District on Saturday.

PITTSBURGH --

A police car crashed into a city paramedic vehicle in the Strip District on Saturday.

The accident occurred at about 5:45 p.m.

The police officer had to be pulled through the window of his vehicle which flipped on its side because it was starting to catch fire.

A paramedic chief was trapped in his SUV for an extended period of time.

Occupants of both vehicles were taken to UPMC Mercy and are in stable condition.
