Inmate Steals Ariz. Officer's Car After Release

Sheriff officers say after Christopher Martell was released, he broke into and stole an officer's personal vehicle from the jail parking lot and lead police on a short pursuit before he crashed into another driver.

CAMP VERDE, Ariz. --

An inmate released from the Camp Verde jail ended up back in cuffs on Thursday.

Sheriff officers say after Christopher Martell was released, he broke into and stole an officer's personal vehicle from the jail parking lot and lead police on a short pursuit before he crashed into another driver.

He is now back behind bars facing several charges including theft and assaulting an officer.
