A Louisville man is facing criminal charges after police said he set a fire in a trash receptacle.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --

A Louisville man is facing criminal charges after police said he set a fire in a trash receptacle.

According to arrest records, Robert E. Meehan, 58, set a newspaper on fire and tossed it in a Dumpster full of wooden construction debris Tuesday night near Clay and East Market streets.

Louisville Fire & Rescue put out the fire.

Police said Meehan admitted to setting the fire, telling an officer, "I'm a little bit of a firebug."

Meehan is facing wanton endangerment charges.
