WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --

A man accused of dragging a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy on a motorcycle has been arrested.

Victor Morales was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence and fleeing and eluding.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera said Morales was traveling more than 100 mph on his motorcycle when the deputy attempted to pull him over. As the deputy approached Morales' motorcycle, Morales accelerated, dragging the deputy about 300 feet, Barbera said.

Barbera said deputies eventually located Morales in Boynton Beach.

The deputy was expected to survive.
