Mass. Officer Hurt When Cruiser Flips

Cambridge police were investigating a two-car wreck Saturday afternoon involving one of their own cruisers.

Cambridge police were investigating a two-car wreck Saturday afternoon involving one of their own cruisers.

Police said the officer was traveling on Binney Street and had his emergency blue lights activated while responding to a call at about 1:20 p.m.

Authorities said the officer and another vehicle somehow collided at the intersection at Fulkerson Street, causing the cruiser to flip over.

The officer, who has not been identified, received minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the scene and released.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
