Mississippi Officer Involved in Motorcycle Crash

A car pulls out in front of a Jackson police officer, causing him to crash the motorcycle he was riding, authorities say.

JACKSON, Miss. --

A Jackson police officer was slightly injured Friday in a motorcycle crash, authorities said.

About 10:45 a.m., a car pulled in front of the officer, who was riding a police motorcycle, causing him to crash on Briarwood Drive and Interstate 55, police said.

The officer was treated for cuts and bruises at the scene, police said.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody in connection with outstanding warrants, police said. He was also cited for driving without a license or insurance, police said.
