Hanwha Techwin Introduces Wisenet Q series, a New Line of Affordable Cameras and NVRs at GSX 2018

Sept. 13, 2018
Wisenet Q series offers simple and essential features that are ideal for securing small to medium-sized businesses

Teaneck, NJ, August 29, 2018 – At GSX 2018 in booth #2341, Hanwha Techwin America, a global supplier of IP and analog video surveillance solutions, will unveil the Wisenet Q series line of affordable cameras and NVRs.

Scheduled to become available in September 2018, the Wisenet Q series is an affordable professional product line that offers simple and essential features that are ideal for small to medium-sized applications.

Q series Cameras:

The Wisenet Q series offers a range of 24 indoor and outdoor dome cameras to meet the needs of a variety of customers looking for sharp and clear image quality at an affordable price, including retail, banking, offices, transportation and more. Available in 2MP and 4MP resolutions, the Q series cameras are packed with innovative features including:

· Multiple lens options (2.8mm to 6.0mm lens) as well as motorized and manual vari-focal lenses

· Hallway view for monitoring vertical shaped areas

· Improved bandwidth efficiency with WiseStream and H.265 (using WiseStream technology and high-efficiency video coding (H.265), the bandwidth efficiency can be improved by up to 75% compared to current H.264 technology)

· Defocus detection - helps recognize when an image is out of focus

· True 120dB WDR (wide dynamic range).

· Built-in IR on all Q series cameras

· PoE (Power over Ethernet) powered

Q Series NVRs

The new QRN NVRs provide high-performance recording solutions yet cost-effective options for smaller installations such as offices and retailers. Customers can save on both installation costs and time by using the Wisenet Q series together with the new Q series PoE NVRs (Network Video Recorders). The PoE ports negate the need for the provision of separate power cables and plug points for each camera or the need for an external PoE switch.

The new NVRs are able to support the display of ultra-high definition 4K display images via their HDMI output ports. This means users also have the alternative option to display 4 x 1080P images in quad mode.

Just like the cameras in the Q series, the QRN NVRs support Hanwha’s WiseStream compression technology to improve bandwidth and storage efficiency for high-resolution images. The QRN-410S 4 channel models each have the capability of 40Mbps network camera recording. The 8 channel QRN-810S models can record up to 80Mbps, while the 16 channel QRN-1610S models can record up to 128Mbps.

By using the metadata from the cameras, the new QRN NVRs can improve the searching methods of the archived videos. Users can search the metadata via Smart Search, Virtual Lines, and Enter/Exit boxes. These features can be used in combination to reduce the amount of time needed to search for any specific motion-related events.

Should there be a temporary network fault preventing the streaming of captured images to any of the NVRs, an Automatic Recovery Backup (ARB) feature automatically and seamlessly feeds the missing images from the respective cameras’ SD card when the network connection is re-established. This ensures there are no missing gaps in the recording of what could be important evidence of an incident.

The QRN NVRs provide support for the latest version of the Wisenet Mobile App by using a QR code for each of the connected cameras. NVRs can easily be added to the Wisenet Mobile App list by simply scanning the QR code with a smartphone.

Notifications are automatically ‘pushed’ to authorized users via the Wisenet Mobile App when an alarm is triggered by sensors, motion detection and/or a variety of analytics including enter/exit direction, virtual line and camera defocus.

The QRN NVRs are fully compatible with Wisenet WAVE VMS (Video Management Software), an extremely easy-to-use and scalable software solution that maximizes the efficiency of Wisenet network cameras and provides the option to seamlessly monitor, expand, and scale its systems.
