Armed and Famous has been canceled after four episodes. CBS says they may air the remaining three installments during the summer. Plan your vacation appropriately.
Your correspondent (me) hasn’t been too active in the blog department lately, as he is moving himself and all his worldly possessions across the country. Yesterday was Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and today I leave Bismarck, South Dakota for Billings, Montana. Can you say, “cold?” If the car heater quits, this trip will be delayed.
I’m giving away Officer.com t-shirts to the cops I encounter. As I was leaving a restaurant in Wauseon, Ohio, I saw a Ohio State Patrol patrol car in the parking lot. I hadn’t seen the trooper come in. I went to get a couple of t-shirts out of the car and then found the trooper eating in an isolated part of the dining room. His face fell as he saw me coming toward him. “Ohmigawd, can’t you see I’m eating?” I told him I remembered how much I hated having my meals interrupted, so I wouldn’t keep him long. I gave him the shirts and a business card, and told him to stay safe. He didn’t seem to mind after that.
So, if you’re a cop patrolling I-90 or I-94 between North Dakota and Washington and see a green over silver Toyota RAV4 with Maryland plates, feel free to pull me over and say hi. There’s a t-shirt in it for you. If the opportunity arises, I might even buy coffee.
By the way, please don’t ask me to send you a t-shirt. I don’t have all that many left, and the logistics and cost of mailing them is more than I can handle. You’ll just have to come find me.
Bismarck, North Dakota! Much, much colder.
Welcome to the North. I just recently moved myself from Maryland to Minnesota. [Chicago was the worst drive of my life]. Hope you brought snow boots, we’re hitting -20 soon!
That seems like a fun idea. Have fun
Tim, God be with you on your journey…you’re in my prayers.
Hmmm…. Got a lot colder here after you went by. Gotta check the crystal ball to see what you cranked off this time….
(Now I know why you didn’t stop too. No XXXXXL T-shirts….)
For the lurkers, Tim and I go back a long time. He called me when he got close but didn’t have time to stop.
Walking up to an OSP Trooper in a restaurant is not a good idea. I think they got a quota….
(That had to have been a funny encounter. Especially if he recognized you….)
Regards, and enjoy the trip!
Stu.
