RANTEL is a multi-functional, high performance, modular, hand-held, passive night vision mini-monocular. It utilizes a single, 18mm ANVIS type GEN II+ or GEN III image intensifier tube to provide crisp, clear images under the darkest conditions. The “single tube/single eyepiece” approach to night vision missions is based upon the proven concept that independent use of each eye maximizes the ability of the user to operate under a wide range of low light conditions. With the RANTEL, the user retains his full peripheral vision in the unaided eye in conjunction with the 40° Field-of-View offered by the night vision device. The RANTEL can be hand-held or installed on a variety of standard and optional head mount/ helmet mount assemblies for hands-free use. The integrated near-IR illuminator enhances the ability of the user to read maps and operate in confined spaces. The RANTEL is compatible with all weapon mounted near-IR laser aiming and illuminating devices.
Presented at Shot Show 2012, the Meprolight Mini-Hunter, a lightweight night vision weapon sight, and NOA NYX, an uncooled thermal weapon sight with 2x magnification.
Meprolight’s NOA NYX uncooled thermal weapon sight with 2x magnification was developed in response to the critical need for precise target detection and engagement, even in conditions of dust, smoke, and total darkness. Weighing less than 2.2 pounds (<1 Kg), the advanced NOA NYX uses high-resolution microbolometer technology to ensure clear and consistent results. The flexible unit can be used as a hand-held device or fitted to light machine guns, assault rifles, and submachine guns. Due to its light weight and long-range capability, it is also suitable for sharpshooter rifles with an x2 and x4 digital zoom. The sight can detect man-sized targets at up to 900m. Output can be fed to a remote screen or recording equipment via its “video out” feed. Storing up to 3 user-configured sighting reticules and requiring a warm-up time of less than 5 seconds, the NOA NYX can operate continuously for 7 hours using 4 “AA” batteries. The NOA NYX is the latest addition to the NOA family of sights that includes NOA x4, NOA x7, and NOA DUAL FIELD - which are all in use globally.
Presented at Shot Show 2012, Meprolight's Mini-Hunter, a lightweight night vision weapon sight, and NOA NYX, an uncooled thermal weapon sight with 2x magnification. Both sights are remarkably light weight and robust.
Meprolight enhanced its Mepro GLS, a self-illuminated optical sight for 40mm grenade launcher, installed on assault rifles. The enhanced version of Mepro GLS enables effective fire against light armor and infantry targets up to a range of 400 meters, instead of 350 meters in the previous version. In addition, the enhanced version enables range estimation.
Meprolight's Mepro MX3, a compact scope designed to improve the shooter’s capability, has X3 magnification to enhance the precision and effectiveness of the rifle’s existing sight by extending the shooting range without re-zeroing the sights. Mepro MX3 can be attached to any standard MI-DST_L1913 Picatinny Rail, behind a reflex sight, using a quick release adapter.
Meprolight's MEPRO LIR is a personal marker designed specifically as an individual identification device for fratricide prevention. MEPRO LIR was designed in response to requests by special military and police units for an infrared identification device. The device is resistant to shock, water and most oil-based solutions. Since MEPRO LIR is placed on the back, or the rear of the helmet, it includes a digital control panel that is connected to the marking unit via a wire. The panel enables the user to see any malfunction, as well as information about the light intensity and illumination panel. MEPRO LIR is the only personal marker of this kind that includes a personal control panel.
Meprolight, announced the global availability of MEPRO MOR - a multi-purpose, multi-activated "red dot" reflex sight with laser designators.
MEPRO MOR includes three possibilities in one sight: passive sight (operated without batteries), an active reflex sight for low light conditions, and dual laser pointers (red laser and/or infrared). The possibility of using the sight without batteries offers cost and energy savings, and enables the soldier to stay in the field longer. Reserve units can store the sights for years and use it immediately when necessary.
Meprolight included new features to its Electro Flare heavy-duty LED-flashing device. Originally designed for the specific needs of law enforcement agencies, Electro Flare can be used in virtually any emergency situation that calls for temporary marking as a safety precaution.
