E/M Wave’s “X”-Nut antennas are engineered to compete with traditional “Chrome Nut” designs, while delivering “Antenna Value” to end users. The “X”-Nut base is manufactured from a high impact dual shot Xenoy/TPV insert mold, for road element and impact resistance. Dual seal construction with flexible skirt and o-ring protects against dirt and moisture. The press-fit adapter provides reliable whip support through solid brass connections. In Chrome Nut designs, inherent impedance discontinuities appear at the drive point of the radiator due to the metallic presence of the nut on the NMO mount. The “X”-Nut design eliminates discontinuities and optimizes impedance matching through the non-metallic Xenoy. This increases bandwidth for true quarter wave performance, typically up to 10 percent.
