Allen-Vanguard's decontamination systems apply to a wide range of situations from large-scale incidents to emergency spot decontamination of chemical, biological and radioactive hazards, and in response to accidents involving general toxic substances. The Dual Tank Integrated System on Trailer is a modular, heavy-duty mobile CBRN decontamination system developed for the large-scale decontamination of vehicles, buildings, equipment and terrain. Simple to operate and maintain, it is self contained and carries on-board chemicals, mixing, hoses and nozzles. Using Allen-Vanguard's Surface Decontamination Foam (SDF), it can be set up and operational within 10 minutes of arrival by a single operator and is capable of pre-wash, decon and post-rinse operations. The system can decontaminate approximately 500 square metres per hour.
Allen-Vanguard has re-launched its NATO-certified, Non-Magnetic Tool Kit, which allows EOD specialists to deal with older unexploded ordinance (UXO). The Non-Magnetic Tool Kit is also ideal for present challenges, particularly where the nature of devices is unknown. Supplied in two fully certified non-magnetic, foam lined protective carrying bags, the kit includes screwdrivers and spanners in varying sizes, as well as a hacksaw, pliers and probe. All the tools are manufactured in beryllium copper alloy and are hardened for durability.
Allen-Vanguard, a world leader in internal security, has re-launched its basic kit for rummage operations. The Rummage Tool Kit is specifically designed to help customs professionals carry out searches and comes with tools to remove panelling and inspection covers. Included in the kit are spanners, screwdrivers, a wrecking bar and pliers, along with large and small mirrors that can be attached to adjustable poles to aid searches in confined spaces.
Allen-Vanguard has redesigned its CEM series of search mirrors to further enhance accessibility for search professionals. The telescopic CEM series, which includes an under vehicle rechargeable trolley mirror, is a convenient and valuable search kit for otherwise inaccessible areas in vehicles and buildings as well as on ships. The device is currently used by the police, customs, prisons and border control as well as military and counter terrorist forces. The redesigned CEM units include a long telescopic arm that has an optional light pod with ultra-bright LEDs. The five-section arm is lightweight with a unique injection-molded locking mechanism which fixes the arm in position during use. Manufactured from extruded aluminium with a grey finish, the mirrors have non-slip rubberized handles which provide improved grip and comfort for users.
Allen-Vanguard has relaunched its miniature inspection kit. This internal inspection equipment aids security, drug and contraband searches effectively and efficiently. The 22-piece visual search set consists of a variety of miniature mirrors, light probes and illuminated magnifiers. These assist with the internal inspection of suspicious cases and containers through small apertures with the least interference. The set includes a battery handle, an illuminated 8x magnifier and a selection of clip-on mirrors with a variety of diameter sizes from as small as 9.5mm. There is also a range of light probes with diameters from 3mm to 14mm. The light probes can be extended up to 760mm in length and include insulated light guides in acrylic for use in electric equipment. This kit comes in a protective carrying case with batteries and six spare lamps.
Allen-Vanguard's RF Field Monitor enables operators to test the effectiveness of Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) equipment or "jammers" while it is deployed. ECM systems, designed to protect targets from potential terrorist attack by radio-controlled improvised explosive devices, are designed for security to give no indication of their method of working, or even that a system is powered up. The RF monitor provides a simple confidence check that an ECM system is fully operational. This handheld, battery-powered device gives a clear indication to the operator that an ECM system is operating correctly and emitting RF energy on each of the designated output channels.
Allen-Vanguard introduces its enhanced visual search kit (SKM) to assist security, drug and contraband search teams. This portable kit is developed to provide the rapid searching of venues, vehicles, aircrafts or ships of any size. The portable SKM includes a side-viewing endoscope for searching remote areas, with a 10-watt halogen lamp in its tip providing bright illumination that aids inspection. Power for the endoscope is supplied from a secondary socket in the fluorescent hand lamp with the kit. The SKM kit also includes search mirrors with a long telescopic model for inspecting otherwise inaccessible areas. Interchangeable mirrors, light probes and illuminated magnifiers are included. The kit is supplied in a protective foam-lined carrying case complete with batteries and replacement lamps.
Designed for security teams worldwide for application in a variety of conditions and circumstances, the Allen-Vanguard tools range from weapon mounted devices to powerful surveillance systems for use in even the most obscure overcast night light. The NiteWatch is a handheld monocular surveillance device that can be attached easily to both still and video cameras, enabling professionals to record long range night time scenes effortlessly. The Night Vision Surveillance kit (NVSK) contains all the tools required to gather visual information in low-light situations. The NVSK can record high quality still and digital video sequences, measure the distance to the object under surveillance and supply additional covert infra-red illumination. To complete the night vision range, the BlackCat2 handheld thermal imager is a simple-to-use camera for police, coastguard, border guards, customs and security guards alike. Because it is powered by a standard camcorder battery, it is lightweight and portable, making it an essential tool for those in internal security.
Defender is an ideal ROV for bomb technicians with special features includinch chem-bio wash down capability, allowing it to be used in potential chemical/biological/radiological (CBR) situations. The robot, from Allen-Vanguard, and all of its devices are configured as a computer network so operators simply "plug and play," driving it with spread spectrum radio frequency telemetry from a PC-based console at the incident control point. Defender has five fitted cameras, and the user can view two flicker-free images on a screen simultaneously or switch between all five.
The HAL Heavy Duty Tripod is designed for lifting or moving heavy objects up to 2260 kilograms, during explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) operations where no natural or manmade assistance is present. It is suitable for both conventional munitions disposal and improvised explosive device disposal (IEDD), tasks involving substantial artillery items. Despite being immensely strong and of significant size and weight, Allen-Vanguard's tripod is extremely portable, making it a very useful accessory in the field. It is constructed from high-strength aluminium and is equipped with a full set of heat-treated anchor pegs and a weather-resistant reinforced nylon transport case.
