The M4-style rifle as only DPMS can render it. Beginning with the 14.5-inch M4-contour barrel with chrome-lined bore and chamber, the DPMS AP4 carbine shares all of the same features as more expensive renditions of this military classic, at a greatly reduced cost. Accurate, durable, and reliable, the AP4 carbine performs.
PMS Firearms, LLC's 7.62 NATO Panther "Sportical" introductory level, large-bore rifle is capable of transitioning between the forest and the rifle range with ease thereby bridging the gap between the sporting and tactical markets. Chambered in 7.62 NATO, this lightweight rifle features a 16-inch chrome-moly steel heavy barrel, a slick-side upper receiver and carbine length GlacierGuards. The aluminum upper and lower receivers feature a uniform, Mil Spec hard-coat anodizing. A semi-auto trigger group, integral trigger guard, A2 Pistol Grip and the Pardus 6-position, telescoping carbine stock complete the introductory rifle. Two 20-rd steel magazines, a cleaning kit and hard case for storage come standard with each rifle. The rifle weighs 8.3 pounds when empty.
DPMS unveils the new 45 round magazine, designed to be fully compatible with all firearms that readily accept M-16 magazines. Stamped from .040-inch-thick 6000-series aluminum and heat treated, this new magazine features a hard coat anodizing per Mil-Spec and a black Teflon coating. Though fabricated from two 30-round box magazines, the DPMS 45 round magazine utilizes a standard follower and floor plate and as always, is function fired prior to shipping. Competition shooters and recreational shooters alike will appreciate that the new 45 round magazine from DPMS fits their preexisting magazine holders, cinches, grips and loaders. No special accessories needed for the higher capacity magazine!
Made of lightweight, fiber-reinforced black Zytel, the Pardus buttstock has four integral slots for sling attachment, in addition to the standard sling swivel, making it completely customizable to the needs of both left-handed and right-handed shooters. Shooters can customize their length of pull with the six-position buffer tube. Adjusting the tube with cold or gloved fingers just got easier too as DPMS has designed a more ergonomically shaped latch with fully integrated finger grooves. Shooters will also notice the curved, saw-tooth buttplate which allows them to pull the rifle to the shoulder more securely, providing for a tighter cheek weld to the comfortably flared, Monte Carlo-style cheek rest. There is also a reinforced area surrounding the latch pin, providing additional strength to the latch pin and helping it resist breakage should the rifle ever be dropped buttstock down.
The Pardus rifle, a smaller, sleeker version of DPMS's Panther, features a forged 7075-T6 aluminum lower receiver and .223 caliber chambering. The 16-inch bull barrel has an integral compensator and an overall length of 36 3/4 inches. Looking down the barrel, shooters will notice the shortened sight radius and the comfortable grip of the four-rail carbine length free float tube, as well as the single rail Koelbl gas block that allows shooters to mount both optics and iron sights. The three-rail upper receiver provides a multitude of mounting options with the two additional Picatinny rails on the left and right sides of the receiver.
DPMS Panther Arms has answered customers' requests for a LR-308 rifle with standard ironsights by introducing the LR-308C, an AP4 Panther Carbine. The LR-308C features a milled 6061-T6 aluminum lower receiver; ribbed aluminum free float tube; thick-walled, extruded A3-style upper receiver with ejection port cover; shell deflector; forward assist; and a standard height Picatinny rail. Additional features include a standard A2 front sight assembly, a six-position telescoping buttstock and a heavy barrel styled after an AP4 contoured barrel. Hard coat anodizing and black Teflon coating along with a 308 Panther Flashhider completes the package.
The front sight from DPMS adds three additional rails to the standard front sight body. These three new rails, located at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions have been machined into the investment cast 4140 steel front sight body and feature four slots per rail. This front sight also features a machined sling loop located in the rear support leg of the sight. Retaining the same height as the standard A2 front sight, this manganese phosphate finished sight is held to the barrel with two taper pins. Sporting a .750 diameter barrel opening, this front sight will fit standard heavy barreled rifles (5.56x45mm), AP4 Carbine models as well as the LR-308T - the 16 inch heavy barreled 308 caliber rifle from DPMS.
For those shooters looking to add additional accessories to their AR rifles but find themselves limited to 4-Rail handguards and free float tubes, DPMS has the answer to these needs. DPMS offers the Lo-Pro-style 3-Rail upper receiver, an AR receiver that provides three additional mounting options. Machined from a 6066-T6 extrusion, this upper receiver is hardcoat anodized per Mil Spec and Teflon®coated a matte black. The upper receiver features a standard Picatinny top rail with 15 slots, but making this AR receiver unique is the additional rails featured on the left and right sides. These two sides rails, located 22.5 degrees from horizontal, provide additional slots for mounting a variety of accessories. The left-hand rail features 15 slots while the right-hand rail provides an additional six.
DPMS Panther Arms now offers the 6-Rail Free Float Tube, standard and carbine length, for AR rifles. These six-rail handguards feature a 2 3/8-inch diameter, 6,000 series, aluminum, one-piece, free float tube with a T6 heat treatment, hard-coat anodized black. Machined into the free float tube are six Picatinny rails featuring 30 slots per rail on the standard length tubes and 17 slots per rail on the carbine lengths. A total of 48 individual vents increase the airflow to the barrel and help cool the standard length tube while 24 vents disperse the heat on the carbine version. Each 6-Rail Free Float Tube includes a manganese phosphated steel locking collar that controls the timing on the rails.
A tactical alternative to the traditional handguards and aluminum free float tubes, carbon fiber free float tubes from DPMS stay cooler than the standard aluminum free float tubes and weigh less, 40 percent less, providing shooters with a unique alternative to the traditional handguard. Two lengths are available. The standard length tubes measures 12 5/8 inches and weigh 0.55 pounds, while the carbine length tubes measure 7 1/4 inches and weigh 0.35 pounds. All tubes have a 2-inch diameter, a wall thickness of roughly .09 inches and include the hard anodized barrel nut.
