Horus Vision teamed with Kestrel Weather Meters to introduce the Horus Kestrel - a device to incorporate weather (atmospherics) data directly into ballistics solutions in real-time.
The relationship between Horus and Kestrel kindled as a response for the military’s mission to obtain consolidated gear to minimize redundancy and bulk. All the power of ATrag Ballistics is now integrated in the four-ounce pocket sized Kestrel Weather Tracker, eliminating the need for a separate piece of gear (which comes with a number of accessories officers would have to lug around, as well).
After much anticipation and positive field testing, Horus Vision is making its Blackbird 1.5-8x24 available to customers. With close- and long-range capabilities, and a reticle designed for rapid engagement, Blackbird is a great utility scope at about one-third the price of similar products. The combination of low-power and extended zoom allows shooters to take a close-range shot and then push out for distance work without changing equipment. The patented Horus reticle incorporates rapid engagement features for both moving targets and elevation compensation. This allows shooters to hit moving targets and determine come-ups without having to calculate distance. The reticle is clutter-free for a clean view, with the Accuracy 1st Speed Shooting Formula built into the special reticle markings. The combat-proven shooting method increases speed and takes the guesswork out of shooting.
The Horus Vision ASLI gives the long distance shooter a slope indicator and CANT indicator in a single, precision engineered, hermetically sealed unit so officers don't have to hang multiple gauges off their rifle like ornaments. It's reversible and can sit on either side of the scope, accommodating both right and left-handed shooters. The ASLI eliminates guesswork in uphill and downhill shots. To find the true horizontal distance, simply multiply the range to the target by the cosine value shown on the slope indicator. For long-range shots, the CANT indicator is invaluable for keeping bullet flight true to sighted aim. It attaches directly to the scope, can be painted to match the scope's camo finish, and doesn't need batteries.
Two companies known for high-quality optics and innovative technology have teamed up to link two mission-critical tools in the Shooter Objective Ranging Device (SORD). SORD delivers the Sniper's Edge and features a Vectronix Inc. Laser Range Finder (LRF) and a Horus Vision ATragMX Ballistics Calculator. Connected by a cable or wireless connection, SORD instantly captures target range and then displays aiming solutions for multiple targets in up to eight zones. Shooters can enter their guns into the gun list for custom solutions instantly displayed on the handheld calculator, or they can print customized range cards to attach to their gun barrel. SORD links LRFs and ballistics calculators for accurate aiming solutions. The Horus ATragMX Ballistics Calculator registers target ranges automatically sent from the Vectronix LRF. It captures multiple targets in up to eight zones. When a gun is selected from the gun list, custom aiming solutions are displayed for any of the targets and zones that have been captured by SORD. ATragMX ballistics calculations are based on 50 years of ARDEC's small arms research. SORD comes configured for the Vectronix PLRFC or MOSKITO with the Horus ATragMX Ballistics Calculator with ATrag 4.0 software, which also includes the ability to print custom range cards. The devices are connected with a cable or wireless connection where available.
Military snipers are heading into combat with sophisticated ballistics calculators to help them hit targets at 2,500 yards and beyond. Horus ATragMX software considers atmospheric conditions, gun data, ammunition, range, speed and muzzle velocity to calculate precise aiming solutions with "come-up" results – and even accounts for Coriolis and spin drift effects. ATragMX, loaded on a handheld computer made by TDS Recon, is easy to use and lightning-fast. The Recon meets the rigorous MIL-STD-810F military standard for drops, vibration, humidity, altitude and extreme temperatures. ATrag software is compatible with numerous handheld PDAs and PocketPCs and is also available in professional and sporting versions.
Horus Vision's Advanced Ballistic Calculators (ABCs) - rugged handheld computers paired with the company's ATragMX ballistics software can be customized to individual weapons to provide precise accuracy even at extreme distances. ATragMX software from Horus Vision offers shooters the precise ballistics solutions. The software was developed based on data compiled by the Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), the Army's principal researcher, developer and sustainer of current and future armament and munitions systems. ATragMX goes beyond standard atmospheric and targeting data by allowing shooters to reverse-model results for individual guns. After test-shooting their weapons, snipers can feed data back into the software to create more precise calibration for those weapons. This provides better accuracy than the predictive, one-size-fits-all, solutions of typical ballistics software.
Horus vision offers the Talon Tactical Scope to accommodate teh Talon Tactical Shooting System, a true 1x-4x X 24 with an illuminated feature (5 positions for night vision and six for use at twlight). Te Talon Tactical Scope features teh Horus vision long-range reticle with a ghost ring for rapid target acquisition, a true CQT optic that performs also as a long-range optic and lead markers for walking, running etc. The long-range reticle transforms the assault rifle to an accurate long-range sniper rifle. Each scope is packaged with the Horus Aiming System Software. A handheld P.D.A. tells precisely where to hold for any target, under any condition, with any ammunition and for any rifle.
