Catalyst Communications Technologies, Inc. announced its Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI) for its IP|Console solution. CSSI is one of the eight primary Project 25 (P25) interfaces specified in the TIA-102 suite of standards and supports trunking. The Catalyst CSSI Gateway may be added to both new and existing IP|Console systems for voice dispatch to public safety and other critical communications agencies. With its flexible, graphical user interface, Catalyst can provide Police, Fire, EMS, utilities and others custom dispatch screens and capabilities to better meet the unique needs and budgets of each agency.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) deployed IntelliLink, its IP-based Interoperability solution from Catalyst Communications Technologies, Inc., for the Republican National Convention. IntelliLink is part of FHP’s Mobile Command Center, a customized bus that incorporates the latest technology for critical communications. The Catalyst solution was used to increase the capacity of public safety wireless communications in the Convention area, thereby boosting efficiency and providing a margin of safety in the event of a crisis. IntelliLink performed flawlessly as it routed push-to-talk voice traffic for State of Florida personnel from a transportable repeater site brought in for the convention back to the statewide radio system. By using the transportable repeater site, local channels were available for other talk groups and additional capacity was available. The Catalyst solution routes voice using Internet Protocol (IP) and FHP has configured the Mobile Command Center to use any of four different transports for routing the IP traffic to ensure that the messages get through.
Daniels Electronics Ltd. and Catalyst Communications Technologies, Inc., demonstrated Project 25 Fixed Station Interface (FSI) Interoperability with a wide array of standard and proprietary communications tools at IWCE 2012. In the Catalyst booth at the International Wireless Communications Expo, the companies routed push-to-talk voice using the TIA-102.BAHA compliant FSI interface between the Daniels MT-4 base station and the Catalyst IP FSI Gateway. The demonstration further included routing this conventional P25 audio to Digital Mobile Radio, NXDN, Verizon Wireless Push-To-Talk, and to a P25 Trunking capable control station as well as Catalyst’s IP|Console. The solution also supports interoperability with SMARTNET, EDACS, and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based products such as telephony and collaboration tools. The companies showed the P25 Unit ID pass through the FSI link and display on the console screen and in the electronic log of the console; custom graphics for each channel were also displayed.
Catalyst Communications Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Radio Control over IP solutions to the Push-to-Talk (PTT) marketplace, announced a new voice dispatch and interoperability solution for Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) called Propulsion. This graphical tool drives voice dispatch and interoperability between Project 25 (P25) and DMR Land Mobile Radios (LMRs), as well as other disparate PTT devices. The Propulsion console supports radios from multiple vendors including Harris Corporation’s MomentumDMR and P25 product lines; Harris and Catalyst are simultaneously demonstrating the product in their booths at IWCE. A Critical Communications grade solution, Propulsion supports features like Emergency, Unit ID with a centralized alias database, multiple layouts, and SimulSelect, as well as a full complement of accessories such as a PTT footswitch. Catalyst continues to be a force for change in the PTT market with groundbreaking use of modern graphics to instantly communicate the channel, interoperability scenario, individual radio user, and more. Agencies may use generic graphics included with the product or add their own custom logos, emblems and pictures to suit unique needs. System administrators can customize the user interface for each dispatcher and each shift, controlling access to radio channels, telephone lines, and capabilities like patching, while streamlining training with an intuitive presentation.

Catalyst Communications Technologies now offers version 4.42 of their its software, including a suite of capabilities that further enhance users' abilities to control and manage their Radio over IP Dispatch and interoperability systems. Among the new capabiliteis, the new software allows Catalyst customers to link up to eight different radio systems together, regardless of manufacturere or frequency, through enhancements to the IP Link Interoperability software module. Customers will also be able to transmit pre-recorded .WAV files over the air - useful for sending Alert Tones, Paging Tones or stored message announcements. It aslo features the ability to cross Mute audio that orignates from neighboring Remote Client - useful for reducing feedback into neighboring Remote Client's microphone during transmission and much more.
Catalyst Communications Technologies announces a new capability for its IP Fleet users that transmits text messages from personal computer users anywhere on the planet to mobile and portable radio users connected over a land mobile radio network. This capability extends radio over IP applications beyond just voice to now integrate a leading data application - text messaging - and does not require a special message switch. IP Fleet is a Radio over IP dispatch and Interoperability software application from Catalyst that allows users on Personal Computers to communicate with Kenwood's FleetSyncTM radio users by connecting to them over an agency's data network. Within the FleetSyncTM control protocol is a data capability that Catalyst has leveraged to display text messages on the LCD display of the radio. This text can be pre-programmed text messages or free text, up to 48 characters. Remote PC users communicate with Kenwood Fixed Radios over a wide area network. Now, both audio and data text messages can transpire between PC and radio users. This new Status and Text Message capability is the latest in a long history of technology achievements from Catalyst. Company president Robin Grier noted, "Catalyst is pleased to provide an integrated voice and message dispatch and interoperability solution that supports multiple frequency bands, LTR trunking, and conventional with FleetSync signaling for Kenwood radios." IP Fleet can also provide integrated voice and status message dispatch simultaneously via multiple fixed mobile radios.
