Vermont Department Names New Deputy Police Chief

The Burlington Police Department has a new deputy police chief.

Lt. Michael Schirling is a 13-year veteran of the force.

He has worked in special investigations and on the Internet crimes task force.

"I'm excited and certainly grateful to have the opportunity and humbled to work here in a great city and a great department," said Schirling.

Schirling replaces retired Deputy Chief Stephen Work.
