FULSHEAR, Texas --

The city of Fulshear has fired its police chief.

City Council voted Tuesday to terminate Scott Head's employment.

City officials said their decision was made as the result of an investigation into a complaint filed by a former police officer.

"We sincerely appreciate the efforts of all of our police officers, and hope that the public understands that the city of Fulshear is committed to the principles of equity, truth and professionalism," a city representative wrote.

The city said it will soon announce the process for replacing Head.
