CULLMAN COUNTY, Alabama -- Cullman County Deputy Timothy Puckett died Tuesday in Nashville, where he was undergoing medical treatment.

The Cullman County Sheriff's Office sent notice Tuesday evening of Puckett's death. Fundraisers had been held in recent months to help with expenses and treatment related to his battle with cancer.

"The CCSO family would ask that you pray for Deputy Puckett's family and his law enforcement family during this difficult time. "

"Deputy Puckett has been a member of law enforcement for 10 years, during which time he served as a detention deputy, patrol deputy and most recently as a deputy at the Cullman County Courthouse.

"Deputy Puckett was a friend to all those he met on patrol and at the courthouse. He will be missed, but not forgotten," the Sheriff's Office release stated.
