A man robbed a horse and buggy at gunpoint on a Lancaster County road early Monday morning, according to police.

East Lampeter Township Police said the Amish horse and buggy, with three people in it, was heading east on East Eby Road at 12:40 a.m. when a white minivan pulled into its lane, forcing the buggy to stop.

A man who had his face covered and showed a gun demanded money, and the victims tossed their wallets to him and then drove the buggy into a field to get away, police said.

The robber returned to the minivan, which left the scene west on Eby Road, according to police. No injuries were reported.
