Tennessee police fatally shot a gunman who shot a 23-year-old woman in the face in front of the officers last week.
The shooting, which was captured by the responding officers' body cameras, happened shortly before 8 a.m. April 27 when Knoxville police responded to a domestic disturbance, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports. When the two officers arrived at the scene, they saw an armed man—identified as Jamauri Griffin, 25—standing next to a woman.
Griffin quickly lifted his gun to the woman's face and fired. The officers then opened fire, fatally shooting Griffin.
The woman was rushed to the hospital following the shooting. The gunshot wound to the face was not considered life-threatening.
The shooting is under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
